As for internal power adapter:

1. Circuit board of power supply and circuit board of transceiver module are completely independent, they must be two PCB boards but not on the same board;

2. The input and output are protected by surge filter inductance and capacitance to protect the internal circuit;

3. The power adapter is a special switching power supply for communication, not a random power supply. It should provide over voltage and over current protection. The output ripple of the power supply is less than 40mV and less than 1% when the standard output is 5VDC;

4. Switch power supply conforms to safety regulation, and the components for power supply must meet the requirements of high temperature. All components must be with long working life;

5. As a terminal device, fiber media converter should provide redundant power supply and provides maximum guarantee for the fiber optic media converter through current sharing mode;

6. No matter local equipment or terminal equipment, it should be with ground protection and prevent lightning strikes.

And as for external power adapter, it always with the below problem:

1. With heating problem and has to solve it then can ensure the Ethernet media converter can work stably for a long time;

2, It is not convenient on placement and management of the terminal equipment and power adapter;

3. No ground protection, increase operational risk;

4. A connecting wire between the power supply and the equipment increases the electromagnetic interference;

5. There is a certain unqualified rate for the external power supply.
