Splicing of optical fiber is directly related to the quality and life of the fiber project, and the key point is the preparation of fiber end face. Splicing machine can recognize and accept very well if fiber surface is smooth, without burrs or defects, and it is able to make joint which meet the project requirements, if the fiber end face is not qualified, the splicing machine will refuse to work, or make joint with large loss which is not able to meet the engineering requirements. In the process of making the fiber end face and fiber coating stripping, stripping pliers should be vertical with fiber axes and ensure stripping pliers do not scratch the fiber; cutting fiber should be strict in accordance with the rules of operation, it require accurate length, fast action, skillful force when use the cleaver to cut the fiber in or order to ensure the fiber is broken by cutting but not by pressure; when pick up the optical fiber, to ensure that it does not encounter any object and avoid hurt for the end face, so that smooth and qualified fiber end is made. Fiber fusion machine is the key equipment of optical fiber splicing, and it is also a kind of equipment with high precision and high cost. It must be operated strictly in accordance with procedures, otherwise it may cause significant losses. And the length of the heat shrinkable tube shall be consistent with the requirements.
